LeaseWatt

LeaseWatt helps roommates and shared-house renters split electricity and gas costs in a way that feels fair, not arbitrary. Instead of a flat split, it supports simple “usage signals” (work-from-home days, heater/AC preferences, gaming PC hours) and converts them into a transparent cost-sharing agreement everyone signs off on. Users can import utility bills via PDF upload or email forwarding, track payments, and settle balances with reminders. The app also includes a lightweight “comfort policy” feature: agreed thermostat ranges, quiet hours for high-usage appliances, and a dispute log so arguments don’t spiral. It’s not magic—without smart meters per room it can’t measure exact usage—but it reduces resentment by making assumptions explicit and consistent. Designed for renters who move often and need quick setup, not a smart-home overhaul.
