LedgerLens

LedgerLens is a web app (with optional mobile capture) for historians and genealogists who work with scattered, low-quality historical documents—parish registers, census pages, land books, ship manifests, and handwritten ledgers. You upload scans or photos, and the app guides you through a structured extraction workflow: detect tables/columns, transcribe key fields, normalize names/places/dates, and attach citations and confidence levels. An AI layer proposes transcriptions and entity matches, but the product is built around verification: side-by-side image view, change tracking, and an audit trail so your conclusions are defensible. Export clean datasets (CSV/JSON), citation-ready notes, and a “research log” that documents what you checked and what you ruled out. This isn’t magic “auto genealogy”; it’s a practical tool to reduce repetitive grunt work while keeping scholarly rigor.
