LetterLens
LetterLens is a mobile AI app that helps kids (ages 3–6) learn early literacy using the print already around them: cereal boxes, street signs, picture books, and labels. A parent points the camera at any text, and the app highlights 1–3 child-appropriate targets (a letter, a simple word, or a rhyme) based on the child’s current level. It then runs a 60–90 second micro-activity: “Find the letter B,” “Tap the word ‘milk’,” or “Say the first sound.” It avoids long lessons and instead builds daily habit loops with quick wins. Parents get a simple progress view (letters recognized, sounds attempted, high-frequency words) and suggested ‘print hunts’ for the week. It’s realistic: accuracy varies with lighting and fonts, so the app limits claims, uses big targets, and prompts retakes when confidence is low.
