LibProof
LibProof turns a patron’s library lending history into a privacy-safe “reliability record” they can share with third parties (landlords, employers, volunteer orgs) as an optional alternative to thin credit files. Users connect participating library accounts, then generate time-limited verification links that reveal only aggregate metrics (e.g., on-time return rate, years active, number of items borrowed) rather than titles or reading content. Libraries get a lightweight admin console to approve integrations, set what metrics can be shared, and publish a public verification endpoint. The product is realistic but uphill: it requires careful privacy design, strong opt-in consent, and early partnerships with a few library systems willing to pilot. If it works, it creates a new, non-financial trust signal without exposing sensitive reading data, and it gives libraries a modern “member value” story beyond books.
