LifeCostLens

LifeCostLens helps people make big-ticket decisions (car, home upgrade, wedding, relocation, private school) by translating a purchase into real monthly impact and tradeoffs. You connect accounts (optional), set your goals (emergency fund, retirement, debt payoff), and enter a proposed purchase. The app models cash-flow, upcoming known expenses, and “stress scenarios” like job loss, rate hikes, or medical bills. It then outputs a plain-English verdict: what breaks first, how long recovery takes, and what you must change (delay, downsize, increase income, cut categories) to make it safe. It also includes a “decision journal” so you can record assumptions and revisit them later—useful for couples and for avoiding repeat mistakes. This is not a deal-finder; it’s a consequence calculator for lifestyle commitments.
