LiftSafe

LiftSafe is a mobile + web safety app for warehouses and distribution centers that reduces forklift and pedestrian collisions using low-cost phone-based detection and simple site rules. Drivers mount a spare phone in the cab; pedestrians can optionally run the app on their phone or wear a cheap BLE tag. When a forklift approaches a tagged pedestrian or enters a defined high-risk zone (dock doors, intersections, blind aisles), the app issues loud/visual alerts and logs the event. Supervisors get a web dashboard showing heatmaps of near-misses, repeat hotspots, and shift-level risk trends, plus a lightweight coaching workflow (acknowledge, assign retraining, document corrective actions). It’s not a replacement for engineered controls; it’s a practical layer for sites that can’t afford full RTLS systems. Expect some false positives, but the goal is measurable reduction in close calls and better leading indicators than injury reports.
