LightPlot
LightPlot is a web + tablet app that helps small museums and galleries plan exhibition lighting fast and safely. Upload a simple floor plan (PDF or image), drop in artworks with dimensions and medium, then place common fixture types (track heads, floods, spots) from a small library. The app estimates lux levels and glare risk zones using simplified photometric models, flags conservation red-lines for light-sensitive works, and generates a fixture schedule and aiming notes for installers. It also outputs a printable “lighting walk-through” checklist for opening day. This is not a Hollywood-grade lighting simulator; it’s a practical planning tool for teams who currently guess, copy last show’s setup, or pay for outside help. It’s designed to reduce re-hangs, last-minute scrambling, and accidental over-lighting that can damage works.
