LightTuner

LightTuner is a mobile app that helps people with sensory light sensitivity (autism, migraine, post-concussion, ADHD, anxiety) quickly assess and reduce lighting discomfort in everyday spaces. Using the phone camera as a light meter, it estimates flicker risk (common with cheap LEDs), glare severity, and color temperature, then suggests practical fixes: where to sit, which bulbs to request, what screen settings to change, and what low-cost accessories help (tinted lenses, brim caps, diffusers). Users can save “safe spots” and create profiles (work, school, grocery store) with thresholds and preferred lighting. It also generates a simple one-page accommodation note they can share with employers/teachers. This is not magic: the camera can’t perfectly detect all flicker frequencies, but it can reliably flag many problematic environments and guide better choices.
