LineageLens

LineageLens is a web app (with optional desktop agent) that maps how a KPI is produced—from source tables and dbt models to BI semantic layers and dashboard tiles—then flags where it can break. It connects to Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, dbt, and popular BI tools to build an end-to-end lineage graph and a “KPI contract” (definition, owners, refresh SLAs, tests, and downstream consumers). When a schema change, failing job, or definition drift occurs, it shows exactly which dashboards and stakeholders are impacted, with a clear blast radius and recommended fixes. This is not a full BI platform; it’s a reliability layer that sits on top of your existing stack. Expect real constraints: integrations are painful, and coverage will start with a few tools. But for teams drowning in broken dashboards and mistrusted numbers, it pays for itself quickly.
