LineageLens

LineageLens is a web app (with optional CLI) that builds practical end-to-end data lineage across SQL, dbt, Airflow, and warehouse query logs—without requiring perfect metadata hygiene. It connects to your warehouse (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift), ingests dbt artifacts and orchestrator DAGs, then reconstructs table/column-level lineage and impact analysis using a mix of deterministic parsing and lightweight AI for ambiguous SQL. The core value is answering: “If I change this column, what breaks?” and “Where did this metric come from?” It generates a searchable lineage graph, change-impact reports on pull requests, and alerts when downstream dependencies are at risk. It’s intentionally opinionated: focus on the 80% of lineage that teams actually need for safe changes, not an enterprise-wide catalog replacement. Expect some edge cases; the product wins by being fast to deploy and immediately useful.
