LineageLite

LineageLite is a web app (with optional desktop agent) that builds practical data lineage by observing real query traffic and ETL runs instead of relying on manual documentation. It connects to warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift) and popular BI tools, parses query logs, and produces an always-updated graph of tables, columns, dashboards, and downstream dependencies. The MVP focuses on impact analysis: “If I change/drop this column, what breaks?” plus a lightweight governance layer for ownership, sensitivity labels, and approval workflows. It also generates audit-ready evidence (who accessed what, when, and via which dashboard) to support compliance requests. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps classify sensitive fields, suggest owners, and summarize change impact, but the core value comes from deterministic log-based lineage. It’s realistic, but adoption requires security buy-in and careful connector maintenance.
