LineWatch

LineWatch is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that monitors redistricting activity across states and localities and turns messy, scattered updates into a single, auditable timeline. It continuously ingests official sources—commission agendas, draft map releases, shapefiles, public comment portals, court dockets, and meeting videos—then flags what changed, when, and who proposed it. Users get alerts when new drafts drop, when boundary files differ materially from prior versions, and when key deadlines are approaching. The AI layer summarizes meeting transcripts, extracts proposed amendments, and generates plain-language “what this means” briefs for specific counties/precincts. Reality check: the hardest part isn’t the UI; it’s reliable data ingestion and source coverage. The MVP should focus on a handful of states/metros where data is structured and demand is proven, then expand coverage as partnerships and scrapers mature.
