LinkHandoff

LinkHandoff is a mobile + desktop app that lets small groups create a temporary mesh-like network and share one or more internet uplinks (Wi‑Fi, Ethernet via laptop, or phone hotspot) with simple access control. It’s designed for events, film crews, disaster drills, and remote job sites where the “real” network is unreliable and IT support is minimal. Devices discover each other locally, elect a gateway, and route traffic with basic health checks and automatic failover when the gateway disappears. Admins can issue time-limited access passes, see who’s connected, and throttle heavy users so one laptop doesn’t kill the whole link. This is not magic: performance depends on hardware and radio conditions, and it won’t beat proper enterprise gear. But it can replace the chaotic mix of hotspots, random routers, and password texting with something repeatable and auditable.
