LinkLifeguard

LinkLifeguard is a mobile app + browser extension that teaches kids digital citizenship by turning real browsing and messaging moments into quick, age-appropriate lessons. When a child encounters a suspicious link, sketchy download, manipulative ad, or “too-good-to-be-true” offer, the app intercepts with a simple risk meter and one-sentence explanation of why it’s risky (phishing, impersonation, data harvesting, dark patterns). Parents and teachers get a lightweight dashboard showing trends (e.g., most common scam types, repeated risky behaviors) without reading private messages—only metadata and flagged categories. Kids earn progress badges for making safe choices, but the focus is practical judgment, not gamified addiction. It also includes short scenario drills (2 minutes) that mirror current scam tactics, updated weekly, so the content doesn’t go stale.
