LinkSentry

LinkSentry is a browser extension (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) that reveals the real destination and risk level of any link before you open it. Hover or long-press to get an instant preview card: final redirected URL, domain age, HTTPS status, known tracker parameters, and a simple risk score. It can open suspicious links in an isolated, disposable container session and optionally strip tracking parameters (utm, fbclid, gclid) on the fly. The goal is not “perfect security”—it’s reducing the most common everyday mistakes: clicking shortened links, phishing lookalikes, and sketchy redirects from email, social, and messaging apps. The MVP focuses on fast, local-first checks with optional cloud lookups for heavier reputation signals. It’s designed for normal users, not security teams, and it avoids noisy alerts by only interrupting when the risk is meaningfully higher than baseline.
