LitSignal is a web app (with optional browser extension) that monitors new papers, preprints, grants, and conference proceedings for a narrowly defined research niche and flags what actually matters. Users define a “research radar” using a few seed papers, key authors, and negative keywords; the system builds a living query and sends weekly digests plus real-time alerts for high-impact signals (new methods, surprising results, replication failures, or fast-growing topics). It also tracks concept drift: when terminology changes or adjacent fields start using your methods. This is an AI + traditional app: AI is used for semantic matching, clustering, and summarizing; the rest is robust ingestion, deduping, and user controls. Brutal truth: the hard part isn’t summarization—it’s reliable coverage, low false positives, and earning trust with transparent sourcing and links back to originals.
