LoanNudge
LoanNudge is a web app (with optional lightweight mobile companion) for small libraries and community lending programs that struggle with overdue items and low return rates. It plugs into common library systems via SIP2/NCIP (or CSV imports for tiny operations) and runs an automated, multi-channel reminder flow: email, SMS, and printable slips. Patrons get a simple self-serve page to renew, see fines/fees, and request extensions—without calling the desk. Staff get a dashboard showing at-risk loans, repeat offenders, and which reminder templates actually work. The “AI” part is limited and practical: it suggests message wording and timing based on past response rates, and flags loans likely to go overdue so staff can intervene early. This isn’t glamorous, but it targets a measurable operational problem: fewer lost items, less staff time spent chasing returns, and better availability for everyone.
