LoopGuard

LoopGuard is a web + desktop app for industrial control engineers to monitor and diagnose PID/control-loop health across PLC/DCS environments. It continuously ingests time-series tags (PV, SP, OP, mode, alarms) from common historians and calculates loop performance KPIs (oscillation, stiction, deadtime changes, valve saturation, tuning drift). Instead of generic dashboards, it flags “actionable” loops with a ranked list of likely root causes and suggested next steps (e.g., check valve packing, retune gains, fix sensor noise, investigate process disturbance). The MVP focuses on read-only monitoring and recommendations—no closed-loop auto-tuning—because plants won’t trust a new vendor to write to controllers. Reports are exportable for maintenance and compliance, and the app keeps an audit trail of loop changes and outcomes so teams can prove improvements. This is a combination traditional + AI app (AI for anomaly classification and recommendations, traditional for data plumbing and KPIs).
