LoopSentry

LoopSentry is a desktop + lightweight on-prem agent app that detects and pinpoints Layer-2 loops, broadcast storms, and miswired switch ports in small-to-mid networks. It passively listens via SPAN/TAP or mirrored ports, correlates MAC flaps, ARP anomalies, and STP events, then produces a clear “likely loop path” with the top suspect ports and switches. It also runs safe active probes (rate-limited) to confirm loop conditions without taking the network down. The UI is intentionally opinionated: it tells you what to check first, what to shut/no-shut, and what evidence supports the recommendation. This is not a full NMS replacement; it’s a focused incident tool for the most common, expensive, and embarrassing outage cause in SMB/branch environments. Exportable incident reports help MSPs prove work and reduce back-and-forth with clients.
