LotLedger

LotLedger is a mobile + web app that lets shoppers and small retailers verify fair-trade claims at the product lot level using a quick barcode/QR scan and receipt capture. Instead of relying on vague label promises, it builds a “chain-of-custody snapshot” for each batch: certifier info, exporter/importer, shipment dates, and whether the lot matches known certified volumes. The app flags common red flags (expired certificates, mismatched producer/co-op, suspicious volume spikes) and shows a confidence score with sources. For retailers, a lightweight dashboard helps them audit suppliers, store evidence for compliance, and generate a simple “fair-trade transparency page” per SKU. This is not magic: coverage will start narrow (coffee, cocoa, tea) and expand only where data access is feasible. The business model is B2B subscriptions for retailers plus optional consumer premium features.
