LZScout

LZScout is a mobile + web app for paragliders and skydivers to evaluate landing zones with fewer surprises. It combines a structured LZ checklist (obstacles, slope, crops, wires, access, alternates) with a community “recent conditions” feed and a simple risk score you can tune to your skill level. Users can pin LZs, attach photos, note hazards (power lines, rotor spots, livestock), and log what actually happened after landing. Weather is integrated, but the app is brutally clear: forecasts are imperfect and micro-meteorology can’t be guaranteed—this is decision support, not permission. For drop zones and clubs, a web dashboard lets admins publish official LZ guidance, temporary closures, and retrieve incident/near-miss reports without the chaos of group chats. Offline mode caches maps and LZ notes for remote sites.
