MagCal Pro
MagCal Pro is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that turns a shaky phone compass into a usable heading tool for boaters, hikers, and drone/RC pilots. It focuses on the unsexy problem most compass apps ignore: bad magnetometer calibration, magnetic interference, and inconsistent heading under motion. The app guides users through a fast calibration routine, detects nearby interference (car dashboards, speakers, metal tables), and shows a “trust score” so users know when the heading is garbage. It also supports manual declination, offline operation, and a simple heading hold mode for keeping a course. This is not a full navigation app; it’s a heading integrity and calibration utility that can export heading data to other apps/devices via Bluetooth or a lightweight API. If the phone sensors are too compromised, it says so plainly and recommends a cheap external sensor.
