MammalMinder
MammalMinder is a mobile + web app for recording mammal sightings with survey-grade structure: GPS track, effort/time, habitat, sign type (visual, scat, tracks, camera trap), and confidence. It’s built for people who need defensible data, not just pretty photos. The app works offline, queues uploads, and exports clean datasets (CSV/GeoJSON) that agencies and NGOs can use without weeks of cleanup. An AI assist can suggest likely species from photos and location, but it’s intentionally conservative and always requires user confirmation to avoid junk data. The core value is standardized protocols and automatic QA checks (missing effort, impossible ranges, duplicate sightings). Realistically, this won’t beat iNaturalist at casual community scale; it wins by being the “boring but correct” tool for projects that must report outcomes.
