MandalaMap

Mahayana practice is often fragmented: people bounce between YouTube talks, random Zooms, and outdated center websites. MandalaMap is a mobile + web app that aggregates verified Mahayana communities (Zen, Chan, Seon, Pure Land, Tibetan Mahayana) with up-to-date schedules, beginner-friendly intros, and clear etiquette notes. It focuses on “show up and practice” logistics: local sittings, chanting services, retreats, and online sessions, with time-zone aware reminders and one-tap calendar add. Centers get a lightweight admin portal to update events and announcements without needing a full website overhaul. The app also includes a simple onboarding quiz to suggest traditions by practice preference (silent sitting, chanting, study, devotion) without pretending to be a spiritual authority. Monetization is subscription for advanced filters and a low-fee listing/management tier for centers. The hard part is trust and freshness; the product lives or dies by data quality.
