MapSnapper

MapSnapper helps orienteers and clubs use printed or PDF maps with modern GPS tracking without rebuilding maps from scratch. You take 4–8 quick photos of the map (or import a PDF), then the app guides you to tap a few known points (start triangle, finish, road junctions, grid ticks). It generates a georeferenced overlay you can use during training to review routes, split times, and mistakes against the actual map. It’s realistic: it won’t replace official competition rules or perfect geodesy, but it’s good enough for training nights, school teams, and club coaching. The product focuses on “post-run truth”: clean route replay, leg-by-leg analysis, and easy sharing with coaches. Clubs can maintain a library of overlays per area and reuse them for future sessions, cutting setup time dramatically.
