MarcPatch

MarcPatch is a web app for libraries and archives that cleans up and normalizes catalog records before they hit your ILS or discovery layer. It ingests MARC21, Dublin Core, MODS, and CSV exports, then runs configurable “patch sets” to fix common issues: broken subfields, inconsistent dates, duplicate identifiers, bad language codes, malformed URLs, and nonstandard subject headings. It produces a clear diff report and exports corrected files back to MARC/CSV, with validation against selected profiles. This is not a magic “AI will catalog for you” product; it’s a pragmatic QA and remediation tool that saves staff hours and reduces downstream patron-facing errors. Optional AI assists with suggesting mappings and flagging anomalies, but every change is reviewable and reversible. The core value is repeatable, auditable cleanup workflows that work with real-world messy data.
