MarginMinder

MarginMinder is a web + mobile app for small service businesses (agencies, contractors, IT shops) that calculates real-time profitability per job by combining time tracking, expenses, and invoices into one margin view. Most SMBs think they’re profitable because cash is coming in, but they’re blind to labor leakage, scope creep, and unbilled work. The app pulls data from QuickBooks/Xero and your calendar/time entries, then flags jobs trending unprofitable and suggests concrete fixes (raise rate, cut scope, bill change order, pause work). It’s not a full ERP—just a focused margin cockpit with weekly alerts and simple workflows. Expect some setup friction: you must categorize work and keep time reasonably accurate. If you won’t track time, this won’t save you. But for teams that do, it prevents “busy but broke.”
