MedShift

MedShift is a mobile + web app for zoo and aquarium teams to manage daily medication, supplements, and treatment tasks across multiple enclosures and shifts. Keepers get a simple, offline-capable checklist with timed reminders, dose confirmations, and required double-sign for controlled drugs. Vets and supervisors see a real-time dashboard of missed doses, upcoming treatments, and exceptions (refusals, vomit, partial consumption). The app generates audit-ready controlled-substance logs, shift handover notes, and basic compliance reports without forcing staff into a full-blown EHR. It also supports quick “as-given” capture: photo of label, barcode scan, and one-tap animal selection to reduce typing. This is a practical operations tool, not a research platform, designed to work in messy, glove-on, low-connectivity environments where mistakes happen and paper gets lost.
