MenuMinder

MenuMinder is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that helps dairy-free diners make safer, faster choices at restaurants. You scan a menu (paper or PDF) and the app flags likely dairy sources (butter, whey, casein, ghee, cream sauces) and common “gotchas” by cuisine. It then generates a short set of questions to ask staff (e.g., fryer cross-contact, margarine ingredients, bread wash) and suggests safer swaps. It’s an AI + traditional app: AI handles menu parsing and risk highlighting; the traditional layer stores your sensitivity level (allergy vs preference), trusted restaurants, and past orders. The app is realistic about uncertainty: it labels items as “confirmed,” “likely,” or “unknown,” and pushes users to verify when confidence is low. Monetization: freemium scans, paid unlimited scans and saved profiles.
