MenuTruth
MenuTruth is a mobile + web app that rates individual dishes (not just restaurants) using photo-verified reviews and a simple “order confidence” score. Users upload a quick photo of the dish and receipt (optional) to prove they actually ate it; the app extracts dish names and price, then aggregates ratings by dish, portion size, and consistency across visits. The goal is to answer practical questions people care about: Which ramen bowl is reliably good? Is the burger smaller than last year? Is the “spicy” actually spicy? It also flags menu items that look great in marketing photos but consistently disappoint in real life. This is an AI-assisted app (for receipt/menu parsing and duplicate-dish matching) with traditional community features (profiles, saves, follows). Monetization is via a freemium model plus restaurant analytics for independent operators.
