MetaNudge

MetaNudge is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that continuously checks whether your data catalog metadata matches reality in warehouses and BI tools. It detects “metadata drift” like renamed columns, changed data types, stale descriptions, missing owners, and undocumented PII fields, then nudges the right people with actionable tasks. Instead of trying to be a full catalog, it plugs into what you already use (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, dbt, Looker/Tableau/Power BI) and focuses on closing the loop: detect, assign, verify, and audit. It includes lightweight policy templates (PII, retention, ownership) and produces a weekly compliance/quality scorecard that leadership can understand. The AI component drafts descriptions and suggested owners, but approvals stay human to avoid hallucinated governance. Realistically, this wins only if it’s fast to deploy and proves ROI by reducing broken dashboards and incident time.
