MetaProof

MetaProof is a web app (with optional CLI) that runs automated “metadata CI” checks on your data stack. It validates that tables, columns, metrics, tags, and owners meet required standards before changes ship—similar to unit tests, but for metadata quality. Connect your warehouse and BI tools, define rules (e.g., PII must be tagged, every model needs an owner, descriptions required for customer-facing fields), and get pass/fail reports on pull requests and scheduled scans. It also detects drift: renamed columns, broken metric definitions, orphaned dashboards, and missing lineage links, then opens actionable tickets with context. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps draft descriptions, suggest owners, and propose tags, but humans approve. The goal is not another catalog—it’s a guardrail layer that keeps catalogs and governance programs from rotting.
