MetricSentry

MetricSentry is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that monitors business-critical KPIs across your existing BI stack and alerts you when numbers look wrong, not just when they change. It connects to tools like Snowflake/BigQuery and dashboards like Looker/Power BI, then runs automated anomaly checks, freshness checks, and metric-definition drift detection (e.g., someone changed a filter, join, or time window). It also creates a lightweight “metric contract” for each KPI: owner, definition, source tables, update cadence, and acceptable ranges. When something breaks, MetricSentry generates a plain-English incident summary and a shortlist of likely causes (late pipeline, schema change, upstream outage, dashboard edit). This is not another dashboard tool; it’s guardrails for the dashboards you already have, aimed at preventing embarrassing exec meetings and bad decisions.
