MicroPermit

MicroPermit is a web app (with lightweight desktop agents) that enforces zero-trust “just enough, just in time” access for internal tools and servers. Instead of permanent VPNs and long-lived admin roles, users request short-lived, task-scoped permissions (e.g., 30 minutes to a specific database schema or a single Kubernetes namespace). Policies evaluate device posture, identity signals, location, and risk before issuing an ephemeral credential, then revoke it automatically. The product focuses on being practical for SMBs: quick connectors for Okta/Azure AD, SSH/RDP, AWS IAM roles, and Kubernetes, plus an audit trail that’s actually readable. It includes an AI-assisted policy explainer that translates access decisions into plain English and suggests least-privilege policy changes, but the enforcement path stays deterministic and reviewable. This is not a full IAM replacement; it’s a thin control layer that reduces standing privilege and lateral movement.
