MillRate is a web + mobile app that helps homeowners and small landlords forecast property tax bills months ahead and understand what’s driving changes. Users enter an address (or import a portfolio), and the app pulls assessment history, millage rates, exemptions, and local levy proposals to produce a plain-language forecast with best/base/worst-case scenarios. It also tracks key municipal budget hearings and ballot measures that affect levies, sending alerts when action is needed (e.g., appeal windows, exemption renewals). The product is realistic: it won’t “optimize taxes” magically; it focuses on early warning, documentation checklists, and appeal readiness. Revenue comes from subscriptions for multi-property monitoring and a paid “appeal packet” generator (comps, timelines, evidence checklist) that users can take to their county process or a professional. The goal is fewer surprises, fewer missed deadlines, and faster decisions.
