MinyanPing
MinyanPing is a mobile + web app that helps Jews in Israel and the diaspora quickly find reliable prayer services (minyanim) and community resources with real-time confirmation. Instead of stale synagogue directories, it uses a lightweight check-in system: gabbaim/hosts confirm service times, nusach, accessibility, and whether a minyan is actually happening today. Travelers, students, and new residents can filter by Shacharit/Mincha/Maariv, Shabbat/holiday schedules, Orthodox/Conservative/Reform, women’s sections, stroller access, and security requirements. The app also supports temporary “pop-up minyan” creation for hotels, campuses, and conferences with RSVP thresholds so people don’t show up to nothing. Monetization is realistic: freemium for users, paid “verified listing” and broadcast tools for synagogues/communities, plus optional travel partnerships. The hard part is trust and coverage, so the product is built around verification and local moderators, not flashy features.
