MoistureMap

MoistureMap is a mobile + web app that helps homeowners and small landlords track, verify, and act on water intrusion risk—without pretending your phone can magically “see” moisture. Users log symptoms (stains, musty odor, bubbling paint), upload photos, and place inexpensive Bluetooth humidity/temperature sensors in key rooms (bathrooms, basements, under sinks). The app flags abnormal patterns (high humidity duration, rapid temperature swings, recurring condensation windows) and generates a plain-English checklist: likely causes, quick tests, and when to call a pro. It also creates a time-stamped “water event” record (photos, sensor graphs, notes, invoices) useful for insurance claims and contractor disputes. The goal is early detection and documentation, not gimmicky AR scanning. Monetization: subscription for analytics + multi-property support, plus affiliate revenue on recommended sensors and dehumidifiers.
