MoldWatch is a mobile + web app that helps property managers and homeowners reduce mold outbreaks by combining cheap sensor data, building context, and evidence-based remediation checklists. Users connect off-the-shelf humidity/temperature sensors (or enter readings manually), tag rooms, log leaks/condensation events, and get risk scoring based on sustained humidity, dew point, and known problem patterns (bathrooms, basements, HVAC closets). The app generates simple action plans: ventilation targets, dehumidifier sizing guidance, cleaning vs. professional remediation thresholds, and documentation for insurance/landlords. It also supports photo logs and time-stamped reports to prove due diligence. This is not a “magic mold detector”—it’s a practical workflow tool that makes mold prevention measurable and repeatable, especially for multi-unit properties where issues recur and documentation matters.
