MoltMap

MoltMap is a mobile + web app that helps birders and nature photographers decide when and where to go during migration without relying on vague “it’s happening now” hype. It aggregates public radar-derived migration intensity, weather (wind/visibility), and recent community sightings into a single “go/no-go” score for your chosen species groups and locations. You set a home base, travel radius, and preferred habitats (coast, wetlands, ridges), and the app recommends nearby hotspots with timing windows (e.g., pre-dawn flight, morning fallout). It’s not magic: predictions are probabilistic and clearly labeled with confidence and the data sources used. The MVP focuses on a few regions first (e.g., US East Coast) to keep data quality high. Monetization is a modest subscription for advanced forecasting, saved alerts, and offline trip packs.
