MoltMeter helps land managers and serious birders estimate when local waterfowl are likely to enter molt and become flightless, so they can time habitat work, disturbance, and monitoring. You select species, region, and habitat type, then the app combines historical phenology, local weather, and user-submitted observations to generate a practical “molt window” forecast with confidence bands. It also provides a simple checklist for field signs (feather types, flock behavior, brood presence) and a lightweight log for sightings that improves future forecasts. This is not a magic oracle: forecasts will be coarse and best used for planning, not precision science.
