MoneyDread

MoneyDread is a mobile + web AI app for people who avoid checking balances, bills, or debt because it triggers anxiety. Instead of “budgeting,” it runs a 3-minute guided exposure routine: connect accounts, then the app reveals your finances in controlled steps (one number at a time) with breathing prompts and plain-language explanations. It auto-generates a tiny “next action” list (e.g., call lender, set minimum autopay, cancel one subscription) and schedules short check-ins so you build tolerance without overwhelm. It also includes an “anxiety mode” dashboard that hides charts and focuses on safety basics: upcoming due dates, minimum payments, and cash runway. The goal isn’t perfect optimization—it’s reducing avoidance so users can function and make decisions. This is not therapy, but it’s designed with CBT-style exposure principles and clear guardrails.
