MorphemeMap
MorphemeMap is a web + mobile AI-assisted app that helps small language teams convert raw audio into usable language resources without needing a full-time linguist. Users upload short recordings (stories, conversations, lessons), then the app guides them through a realistic workflow: segment audio, add speaker labels, create time-aligned transcriptions, and build a living “grammar map” of recurring patterns (affixes, particles, word order notes) with examples. The AI suggests drafts for transcription and glossing, but everything is designed for human verification because accuracy will be uneven for endangered languages. Outputs can be exported as interlinear text (ELAN/FLEx-friendly), printable lesson handouts, and a searchable corpus for community members. The product focuses on practical throughput: getting from “we recorded elders” to “we can teach and search it” in days, not months.
