MuteMap

MuteMap is a mobile + desktop companion app that helps you understand and reduce “privacy leakage” in a physical place—mainly sound and visual exposure. On mobile, you do a 60-second room scan: the app measures ambient noise, detects likely sound escape points (doors, windows, vents) using guided prompts, and produces a simple privacy score with actionable fixes (move desk, add draft stopper, change mic mode, use white noise). On desktop, it integrates with Zoom/Teams audio settings and offers a one-click “Private Mode” checklist before calls. This is not magic: it won’t stop a determined eavesdropper, and it can’t guarantee confidentiality. But it can prevent common real-world mistakes—taking sensitive calls in echoey rooms, near doors, or with poor mic settings—by making privacy risks visible and easy to improve.
