NestProof

NestProof is a mobile + web app for people who manage nest boxes (bluebirds, kestrels, owls, wood ducks, etc.) and want fewer failed broods. The app guides users through standardized box checks, records clutch size/hatch/fledge outcomes, and flags likely failure causes (ants, blowflies, raccoons, snakes, flooding, overheating) based on patterns in their logs. It includes a “predator-proofing checklist” tailored to box type and mounting (baffle style, pole vs tree, entrance guard sizing), plus reminders timed to species-specific nesting windows in the user’s region. This is not a generic birding app. It’s a practical operations tool: track each box as an asset, store photos, note maintenance actions, and generate end-of-season reports for landowners, schools, and conservation groups. An optional AI component can classify common nest issues from photos (e.g., wasp nests, ant trails, mold, damaged entrance holes) and suggest next steps, but the core value works without AI. Revenue comes from a freemium model: free for a small number of boxes; paid tiers for larger trails, team collaboration, and exportable reporting.
