NestPulse

NestPulse is a mobile + web app for birders and field volunteers to log songbird nesting activity with minimal disturbance and standardized protocols. Users record location (optionally obscured), nest stage (building/eggs/nestlings/fledged/failed), brief observations, and effort/time. The app automatically schedules ethical check intervals, flags risky behaviors (too-frequent visits, sensitive species), and generates simple productivity metrics (fledge rate, failure timing) that local groups can use. An AI component helps classify nest stage from short notes and optional photos, but it’s not positioned as a magic “species ID” tool—accuracy is limited and the app is transparent about confidence. Data exports to CSV and optional sharing to partner projects make it useful beyond personal journaling. The core value is turning scattered notes into usable, comparable nesting outcomes for conservation-minded communities.
