NetTrace
NetTrace is a mobile + web app that helps divers, fishers, and coastal NGOs report, verify, and remove ghost gear (lost fishing nets/lines) with a simple, auditable workflow. Users log sightings with GPS, photos, depth, and hazard notes; the system routes reports to vetted local removal teams and tracks status from “spotted” to “removed.” A lightweight AI layer flags duplicate reports, estimates gear type/size from photos, and prioritizes jobs by risk to wildlife and navigation. The web dashboard lets NGOs manage volunteers, permits, and removal logs, and generates impact reports for sponsors (kg removed, hotspots, response times). Monetization is realistic: NGOs and corporate sponsors pay for dashboards, reporting, and verified impact certificates; the public can donate to specific removal missions. This avoids trying to “save the ocean” broadly and focuses on a measurable, fundable problem.
