NetTrace

NetTrace is a mobile + web app for dive shops, NGOs, and coastal cleanup teams to log, tag, and verify recovered “ghost gear” (lost fishing nets/lines) with standardized evidence. Users create a recovery record with GPS, photos, estimated material type/weight, and disposal route (recycled, landfill, incineration). The app generates a tamper-resistant impact report for sponsors and regulators, reducing the messy spreadsheet-and-email workflow that burns volunteer time and undermines credibility. A lightweight AI component helps classify gear type from photos and flags duplicate submissions from the same location/time window. The web dashboard aggregates hotspots, trends by coastline, and partner performance, and exports sponsor-ready PDFs and data files. This is not a consumer “learn about fish” app; it’s operational software for organizations that need defensible reporting and repeatable processes.
