NextOfKin is a mobile + web app that helps families avoid chaos during medical events, aging transitions, and end-of-life logistics by centralizing “who decides what” and “where the info is.” It stores a verified contact tree, decision roles (health proxy, financial POA, emergency pickup), and a checklist-driven vault for critical documents (insurance cards, advance directives, medication list, pet care, house access). The app nudges families quarterly to confirm details, because stale info is worse than none. A lightweight AI assistant can turn photos/PDFs into structured fields and generate a one-page emergency brief, but the product is not a therapy or social network. Sharing is permission-based, with an audit trail so relatives can’t quietly change key facts. This is unglamorous, but it’s the kind of tool people desperately wish they had the day something goes wrong.
