NILShield

NILShield is a web app with a companion mobile app that helps college athletes and their families quickly sanity-check NIL contracts, brand offers, and payment terms before signing. Users upload a PDF or paste deal terms; the app flags common red flags (exclusivity traps, perpetual usage rights, vague deliverables, late-payment language, morality clauses, and tax misclassification). It then generates a plain-English summary, a negotiation checklist, and suggested edits to request from the brand or agency. A lightweight workflow lets athletes route a deal to a compliance officer, attorney, or agent for final review, with an audit trail of versions and approvals. This is an AI + traditional app: AI accelerates review and explanation, while structured templates and rule-based checks keep it grounded. The product is intentionally narrow: protect athletes from signing lopsided agreements, not “manage everything” in NIL.
