NoiseNudge
NoiseNudge is a mobile + web app that helps residents and local health departments document, verify, and prioritize chronic noise hotspots (traffic, nightlife, construction, industrial sites). Users record short audio samples, the app estimates decibel levels (with clear accuracy limits), captures time/location, and prompts a quick health-impact survey (sleep disruption, stress, concentration). Reports are clustered into heatmaps and trend lines so agencies can see persistent patterns instead of one-off complaints. A lightweight case-management workflow lets officials request follow-up recordings, mark enforcement actions, and publish updates back to the community. This is not a “magic meter”: phone microphones vary, so the app focuses on repeatability, calibration prompts, and aggregation to build credible evidence over time. The goal is faster triage, better communication, and defensible prioritization for limited enforcement resources.
